Situation
Our customer is a mine situated in Chile.
The mine is adjacent to another copper mine, owned by another mining company. The second mine has a block-caving underground operation that causes a subsidency in the first one. Because of that, our customer has to deal with a challenging operation that requires a tailored approach using innovative solutions.
Challenge
Move people from the loading mesh of the subsidence sector to a safe area located in another sector of the mine, from where they remotely operate.
Solution
Enaex successfully created a semi-autonomous solution that allowed the blasting process to continue safely and remotely.
We performed the first 100% remote blasting in productive mining in history.
Thanks to this robotic fleet, our customer can extract new copper resources in subsidence zones with neighbouring mine.
