True to our purpose of humanising mining, we seek to find solutions that mitigate the impact of our operations on communities and our planet.
We are off to a good start with many notable achievements. For example, cutting our production CO2 emissions intensity rate by 90% at our largest industrial complex in Chile, the Prillex plany.
Our new challenge is related to our most important raw material: ammonia.
To help our customers decarbonize their operations, we have created two new ammonium nitrates:
- Prillex® Zero: our carbon-neutral ammonium nitrate produced in our Cachimayo plant in Peru using renewables energies.
- Prillex® ECO2: our low-carbon ammonium nitrate, produced in our Prillex plant in Chile replacing grey ammonia by blue one.
The shift to Prillex® Zero and Prillex® ECO2 will allow us to move towards a more sustainable and environmentally friendly approach to mining.
